  • Repainting BBS centres, Prep advice wanted.

Im wondering whats the easiest way to prep the centres of my wheels. I don't really want to sand in and out of every spoke on the wheel.

Is there some sort of plasting media method that I can have done on the wheels to remove the paint?

Will this leave the surface of the spokes with indentations?

Is powdercoating just as nice to look at as paint and wil powdercoat match a paint code?

I would really appreciate any advice or anybodys experiences on this. Thanks!

yep, have the centers soda blasted or a very fine glass bead blasted. Most powdercoaters also do blasting work. the finer media will remove the paint without harming the surface of the wheel.

as for powdercoat to match a paint code, no there isnt any foolproof way to match them, but they do make a bunch of powder colors, so it would be worth going through swatches to see if you find one that matches
and powdercoat is a hell of a lot stronger then paint, so if you want to do it once, and not have to worry about it, get them powdercoated

I will never ever paint wheels again. It scratches way too easily. If you can find a color you like I would definitely go with powdercoat.

Thanks for the replys! I've found a company who soda blasts near me so I'll try them during the week and maybe post pics when I'm finished.
