Hello, i'm currently refurbing a set of OZ mito's and i'm having a bit of a problem, i'm polishing the lips at the minute and really struggling to remove the pitting on them. In the photos you can see one lip I have pretty much finished, I will polish it a few more times before i'm happy though. With this I took it back with 240 grit wet and dry, worked my way up 400, 600, 800, 1200 then finally polish on a die grinder with a polishing wheel, then by hand to remove any marks made by the grinder. I'm pretty happy with how it came out, you can see by the close up (kind of) that all of the pitting hasn't been removed but i'm happy with it how it is.
The second lip you can see in the pictures has been taken back with 240 grit wet and dry but this is pitted alot worse than the first one, i've used a (dark red) scotchbrite disc on a die grinder to remove some of the pitting in a small area but i'm worried about taking alot of the metal with it, which seems to be the case! Is there any better way of doing this?
Any advise from people who have done this or pictures of before/after of peoples lips would be greatly appreciated!
