  • Similar stretch to Hankook Ventus V12s?

I had a set of Hankook Ventus V12s which I loved for the most part. Really good tire for the money in my opinion. The only "flaw" I found was that the sidewall was pretty soft, and on my set they got super fucked up. When I mean that, I'd say at least 50% of the inside sidewall is covered in bubbles. I have an idea why, but there's nothing I can do about it. The tire size in question is a 215/40/18 on a 9.5" wheel.

I've considered Nitto NeoGens but a friend of mine that has stretched them says they run a bit wide. I've considered Toyos as well but people say they also have a soft sidewall. What's something similar in terms of the stretch but with a stiffer sidewall?

I've looked around and can't really seem to find a clear cut answer as this is not a simple question to answer!

    Here's a photo reference of the 9.5s I have with the 215/40s.

unfortunately I see more and more people having issues with stretched V12's. My friend just recently replaced his because the sidewall was cracking where the bead met. I've also seen that on other cars too.

The bubbling is unfortunately pretty common for stretched tires driven on the street. Normal wear and tear can cause that to any stretched tire. A stiffer sidewall does seem to help though.

I don't remember Neogens running wide when I had them myself, and V12's are typically a tiny bit wider than standard. I think there is much better options out there than either though. I've personally used Toyos with zero issues. They were stretched, and I beat on them around Los Angeles. I also frequently did trips to SF and LV, Toyos are still probably my favorite tires to stretch. I don't think you can do wrong with Falkens either. Most of their newer models have a stiffer sidewall compared to say something like the 512's. I had a couple sets of 912's which treated me good, and I always hear good things about 452's.

I would never run v12s for stretch, like you said side wall is to soft.....
on the other hand , fuzion zr1 are the best, they stretch good look good and unbelievable tracktion even in wet..... one more plus, there run flats so you can ride up to 50 mile on a flat and not worry about fuckin your rim up

What.... since when? I have never ever heard of a ZRi being a run flat.

I like my 452's, I've heard of them getting bubbles also but personally I've never had that issue.

I've never bubbled any of my Falken 512s over the years and they are known for their notoriously soft sidewalls (knock on wood)

I'm not saying its a bad tire, but its not a runflat.
