  • E46 M3 18x10.5 fronts?

I know Thatcher ran an 18x10 et0 on his E46 M3, but I am trying to figure out if a 18x10.5 will fit and what offset would work with some sligh poke.

Asking for a buddy of mine interested in my wheels and wanting to run them up front.

    Thanks
    David

well i think anything beyond 10 inch up front is crazy because you have to run a minimum of -4 up front to fit. plus since this is your turning tire you will have to run 245/35 or 255.30 up front just so you wont rub. once you cross those off the list the next factor you have to get around is how far it will stick out on what offset. I know M guys run 19x10 et25 all day long with minimal camber. How ever that extra inch will make a play in what you calculate your final settings to be. I would suggest an offset in the 40s. I know there is a guy in Hawaii with a green M3 with 10.5 up front. it looks awesome but -4 is no joke. I ran -5 on my old G35 on 20x10 and tires lasted 5000 miles. my suggestion

19x10.5 et high 30s with a 255.30 or 245.30 for the front. rears will fit all day long. they will even be more sunk since the M front fender sticks out farther than that rear (good for track) bad for wheel fitment since the front will always stick out more than the rear. keep us updated.

thanks a lot for the info bro, that helps a ton.
the offset now on them is in the low 40's and running a 235/40 on it (my rear wheels).
hes debating on how theyd fit and clearance issues and how much camber will be needed, and plans to get new barrels/lips made that are 11-11.5" for the rears.

i know it'll look crazy dope, but im afraid of clearance in the fronts and how much camber since he dd's it

im only running 2.3 up front....i have thatchers old wheels

i used to daily the car, but recently its just been sitting around for the most part, camber wear isnt that bad at all either, once toe is set correctly that is

the 2nd pic is older and i was running slightly less

                    18x11 & 18x12 do it.

Staying classy and resuscitating/hijacking a dead thread for my first SW post ...

I'm close to pulling the trigger on new wheels for my M and I'm trying to decide between 18x10 and 18x10.5 square. I currently run 265s all around on my oem rear square setup. The new wheels are still for the street, not track.

I'd like to go up to 285 tires: I'm aiming more for fat&flush than for stretch&poke. Anyone know the offsets on hinrichs/thatcher's 18x10s? They seem like they poke a lot more than Tonester's 18x10.5 +25 setup (with 275 tires). Maybe that's just camber settings though?

My current thinking is to go for 18x10.5 +23 square with a spacer in the rear. Will that let me escape rubbing inside up front with the fat tires?

I'm on TCK coilovers and camber plates, so I can dial in more camber as necessary. No fender rolling done yet, but I'm expecting it for the new setup. Don't know my ride heights, but here's the car currently (12mm spacers in the back):

                      please excuse the rust :P
