Is this to much stretch........

185/40 on a 15x9 wheel. Has anyone had experience with these sizes. Is the too much?? I looked at the tyrestretch.com and they didn't even have a pic of some. Thanks

I'm going to say "yes", but only because I can't imagine what kind of fitment would look good with it.


But where did you find a 185/40-15? I've never heard of a tire in that size, yet.

Smart cars have 165's in the front and 175's in the rear, on a 15" wheel. As far as 185/40 I would imagine you could get Continental to make it, they will make just about any size.

My friend had the 165/175 on his 15x8 and it was a really neat stretch.

its going to be quite a bit of stretch, i dont know if its going to be too much though. That depends on personal taste and the fitment. If by too much you mean unsafe, I doubt it. As long as the rim has a bead you shouldn't have a problem.

I'd say it was too much personally. I don't like seeing such thin tyres with huge stretch on them, when you actually catch a glimpse of it they always look far too thin and like you are trying to make the wheels look wider than they are. I feel the same about 205s on my 9s on the back.

what about 195/45 on 16" 9j borbet t . anyone has this setup ? any problems ? i want to put this on a daily . what pressure it needs ?
