  • MK6 Golf R. 19 inch wheels. +22 offset. Doable?

Hey guys. First time poster here.

As per title....I'm curious to see if this will fit my golf....

I'm wanting to get some dish at the rear, and either looking at 19x9.5 all around with +22 offset, or I'll be looking at 19x8.5 front, 19x9.5 rear, +22 offset.... (I'm really wanting 19x9.5 all round)

Reason for +22 is because most evo's (7,8,9, X) go for this offset to get some nice stance and a mate of mine has ordered a set for his (albeit in 18x9.5's +22). Now I know my car isn't an evo, but few questions

    1) What needs to be done to make these fit? Rolled guards of course, but anything else to the body? Flaring? Spacers? Major bodywork?

    2) What tyre specs? Im thinking 235/35/19. would this stretch?

    3) what is the LOWEST offset the Golf MK6 can go to without having to do too much body modification?

P.S the car will be lowered on KW V3 coilovers

    Thanks in advance guys

that should actually fit perfectly .. not to familiar with what mk6s can fit under their fenders but yeah i dont see any problem in that .. get some good stretching tires and you should be fine with just rolled fenders

can you find out for me what your stock wheel setup is? most vws stock wheels come at ~et 35 and are probably 18x8 on your car .. so adding 1.5 in the width and a lil poke from the lower offset isnt going to poke THAT much .. i just wouldnt go with a 235 on a 9.5 .. thats not that much stretch

        go with a 225 falken 512s on the 9.5s and a 215 on a 8.5s

I have 19's on the car, stock OEM talladega wheels wrapped in 235/35/R19 and I think the offset is something like ET50 on the stock wheel

Since VW didn't bless the R with bigger arches. They can only handle the same sizes as all Golf Mark 5s and 6s. So ET 30 with camber all the way negative and lots stretch seems to be the limit. If u really want a nice big dish, look into having the fenders pulled.

Adjusting camber and Air have really pushed the offset boundaries on the mk5/6. Your best bet is to PM people with setups you like and ask them what their offsets are, or you can sit there and measure for yourself. Get a wheel to test with and measure how you want them to fit
