  • Can not get a 205/40 on a 9.5; HELP!

Can not seem to get a 205/40 Falken 512 to "pop" into a bead. Any advice? Can I see some people running the same set-up to know it's possible?

    Ive tried:
    Fire
    Cheetah
    Toe strap's + above

This is the wheel with 120psi in it...One side is seated top is not..

    Set-up is 205/40 Falken 512 on 17x9.5

    Advice?, And Thanks in advance..

I know 205/40 can fit on a 9.5, but the 512 is a really small tire... you sure you've seen other people running the exact same setup?

Between fire, the Cheetah, and the amount of lube you're using, patience should have got it on.

Try it with a bead booster

Sorry, what do you mean by bead booster, Like using bike innertubes?

From researching, this is the exact same set up in 16"

I think the tires are just too cold right now (room temperature)

Dual Cheetahs, 100+ PSI and lots of lube. Get it done.

Probably what you mean by bead booster.

Compressed air in a tank to shoot the air into the tire from the beads to get it to sit. Cheetah is just the brand of the device and it's just normally called Cheetah even if it's not an actual "Cheetah."

Edit: Yes, just looked at your picture. Same thing. Cheetah is a brand here.

I know that saying a "205/40 will fit on a 9.5" Because I've ran it before just with a different brand tire.

This is one of my old set-up's:
                205/40 Nankang AS-1 on 18x9.5.

Really trying to see other people that have ran a 205/40 Falken 512.

I've seen 205/45 Falken 512 ran a dozen of times.

Try it with double Cheetahs from opposite sides of the tire.

                        Only have one cheetah.

Trying to gather as much info as I can before I go back to it tomorrow morning.

only lube one bead (top), clamp it on a machine with a bead blaster, cheetah + bead blast at the same time.

if you are using fire, don't use any lube whatsoever.

lube is kind of a double edged sword when stretching/ballooning tires.

something that i've seen work well is to have three people, two push in opposite sides of the tire while a third does cheetah + bead blaster. (had to do this on a set of runflats) just make sure they are pushing HARD.

also in that pic it seems you are trying to mount it on a 40/40... do you have a "normal" tire machine?
