  • How do you clean your polished wheels?

I searched, but couldnt really find a dedicated answer. I've always been a soap and water kinda guy on my wheels but i was wondering if you guys had anything worth sharing. My wheels are polished then cleared, so it will withstand more than just a raw polished wheel, but for future reference id like to know whats available.

I prefer Adam's Metal Polish to clean the wheels. This is in liquid form, once you used it then it will gives effect for 6 months. It's very popular and easily available.

If they are clearcoated I would just use a wheel cleaner, even though I used mine on the bare metal polished lips too.

          I use this, http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels.../prod_504.html

It is a totally safe non acidic wheel cleaner, diluted to around 1:7 with water, spray on, work with a brush then leave for 5minutes and jetwash. Does say not to use on polished wheels, but more than a few people do on detailingworld.com so I think its safe to do so.

After that I used to give them a once over with Belgom Alu to refresh the shine, and finish them off with a layer or two of rim wax / poor boys wheel sealant.

if they're cleared i wouldn't clean any different than I do paintwork. id presoak the same way i do rest of the car, use a dedicated wash mitt for the wheels, finish with a wax of sort or spray on detailer to get the lips streak free.
