  • Speedline Mistrals w/ fresh paint.

Some of you might remember these, for those that don't...

Bought these about a year ago off a guy in Florida that used these on an SCCA world challenge Camaro. They'd bought them when it was opened up to where they could run 17"x9.5" wide wheels in the rulebook.

Bought them on the cheap and got them powdercoated.

    Before:

    AFTER!

Need to get some lugnuts, center caps and valve stems. Probably going to run spacers to get them more flush with the body lines of the car (have ARP studs available, not looking forward to pulling rear axles)...Oh yeah and tires too!

Probably going to put the speedline spoke logo back on but in black this time. Unless I find some speedline center caps that fit, but these are going to require a 70mm back center cap. I can drop a 20oz can through the hub opening and not touch.

Love those wheels, don't think I'd love them on a Firebird though...

      Mount them up!

It's going on a Firebird, they don't look good with stretch...at all.

This car will haze my 245s without a second thought. Needed more meat, I'm on here for the wheels.

And now for something entirely different!

Car is not going to be lowered any further, longtube headers scrape on everything if it is lower. And I don't like ruining a set of one-off stainless steel headers

cool car.. shame on the height though.. you don't even need to be rubbing fenders, but at least lower it some.. you could hit the dunes in that thing as it sits.

I don't worry about rubbing fenders, it's losing a set of $750 longtubes that I worry about. If I ever go forced induction with a nice tucked exhaust system, I'll lower it without a doubt.

Finally got them installed a while back.

Here's the first basic shot of it at Texas Speed & Performance for a dyno tune appointment.

Enh, even if it's not stanced, I think it looks good. Just really clean.

Got bored lastnight. Need a better camera and fresh paint. Working on getting some spacers and ARP studs to bring the wheels out just a little more. I'm looking at some different suspension stuff for later if I ever get away from running longtube headers in this horrible horrible town.
