  • Wheels questions/suggestion for my 2011 Golf

    Hi,

I would like to upgrade the ugly original 16" wheels that comes standard with my MKVI Golf TDI for something better looking I was thinking about some BLQ cast 1 piece by Rotiform in 17" or 18" (but I am opened to suggestion). I don't want to sacrifice to much riding comfort and mpg as I drive a lot. I live in Montreal and the roads here are horrible. I am looking to drop the car by 1.5" to 2". My questions are :

What offset should I be looking at for my application ?
I Believe that the bolt pattern on my car is 5 x 112 ?
Any other suggestion for wheels ?
Any suggestion for a good comfortable tire with a nice tread, that will last for a long time (as I drive 30k/year) ?

    Thanks

Fellow 2011 TDI Golf owner here as well, let me just say that I got back from a trip to Montreal + Quebec City in the Golf. I don't even know how you do it with a STOCK car.
Lowered car + Montreal = Lololololololololllllll. Good luck, I can't stand the roads there and wouldn't drive anything but a Humvee through them. And I used to live close to Detroit... that should put things in perspective.

I was exaggerating a bit, 2" should be a decent drop from stock, BLQs are good wheels, just drive slow and avoid the 10389471918171672738281 potholes in Montreal.
