  • Wheel width help

Hey all, I drive a 2000 nissan maxima. Ok a
Looking at a set of wheels that are 18x9.5.

With wheel that wide would I have a problem turning or making u turns? Btw my car is fwd. Also would 225/35 tires fit on them?

Usually no, though it depends on offset, then yes to your second question.

Gotcha... I would go with a conservative offset around 20

      Thanks for the help!

Well is that conservative for your car? Offsets are not universal for cars...

            http://forums.maxima.org/tires-wheel...-question.html

Read that. Should be able to answer some Maxima Specific Q's. (Dont listen to what that thread says about tire stretching though. 225 on a 9.5 is ideal unless you want to go for some mega stretch go for 215.

Yeah, that's not really "conservative" for a Maxima, but it's also not overly aggressive.
Best of luck, I look forward to the results, that's not a real common car to modify like this.

Yeah, I would brush up on your knowledge of that stuff before you go any further.

It definitely could be a cool project, if you do your research and use some quality parts.
