  • 10" on b4 Passat?

Just bought a new car. 94' VW Passat b4. Planning on getting some coilovers to lower it, and of course wheels!
So I was wondering if anyone know if I can fit 17x8.5 up front and 17x10 in the rear without extreme poke? With offsets of 20 front and 15 rear.
Haven't seen very many of these cars stanced.

As far as I know, no ones done 10 wide on a b4. I can't really recall even seeing 9 wide. My plan on mine is to put bigger lips on my wheels, resulting in 16x9 +12 front and 16x9 +2 rear (10mm spacers). I should have the wheels taken apart this week, and I was going to bolt some spacers in between the outer lip and face to make them 9 wide to check fitment before I order lips. I can post pictures when I do, just to give you a bit of an idea. Not the same dimensions, but it will give you an idea.

The "J" does not mean inches, by the way.

        Thanks. That would be great.
By the way. Is your car 4 or 5 lug?

Haha, most people think it does, but it's not. It just indicates the tire bead/inboard/outboard flange shape for where the tire seats.

5 lug. GLX VR6, manual, wagon.
I just need to get the tires dismounted from the wheels, then ill be able to take them apart.

Ok. I have a CL 1.8, manual sedan. 4 lug..
Do you know if the VR6 rear axle is different from the 4 lug ones?

I'm not sure really. I would imagine they are the same, but I could be wrong. Do mk3 jetta/golf coilovers fit on yours? They do on mine, if that helps. I'm pretty sure they are the same though. I've never heard of them being different.

I've got a mk2 golf that I for some reason had mk3 coilovers on.. It seems to me that they would fit the passat. The rear axle looks exactly the same as the golf. So I think the VR6 axle must be similar, only 5 lug.

Found a picture of one with 16x10,5 in the rear. Looks good. Maybe a little too much poke.

So I think 17x10 should fit with some nice stretch, or I'll go for 17x8,5 all around with spacers in the rear..

Nice! I think I'll go for 17x10 in the rear then.
