small rear width wants poke

ok so i have set of porsche twists 17x7 et55 fronts and 17x8.5 et50 rear. my question is can i run a 35mm adapter in the rear with the 8.5's so my final et 15 and is this safe? i know exactly where the wheel will sit because im using my old set up as a base point to work off of.


ps please don't tell me to get wider wheels because i know. im working on it. i just want to know if this will work and if not, mechanically why.

so i think ive figured it out... going by my sawblade set up which was....

front:8.5" et56 w/ adapter of 1.5"/38mm = final et18 205/45/17
&
rear:9.5" et56 w/ adapter of 1.3"/33mm = final et23 215/45/17

that would make the twists

front:7" et55 w/ adapter of 1.8"/48mm = final et7 185/40/17
&
rear:8.5 et50 w/ adapter of 1.3"/35mm = final et15 205/45/17

thanks man but thats how i got to where i am now. my question is... does the shit im saying sound right and is it safe. especially the front with that big of an adapter?

Oh shit, just actually read your spacers, 48mm?

Just me, but not in a chance in hell I'd run that on my car. Look for 2x rears for the front? I used to **** having 26mm spacers.

I guess 195/45 if you are really freakin low. I mean 22.5 or less

195/45/17s are pretty hard to find - well I found them hard to find, could only get hold of 2nd hand Goodyear F1s

thanks for all the response guys. i think we're going to run 195/45 on her car. i mean its a friggen 7" wide wheel theres not gonna be any stretch i just want something to protect the wheel and make the stance look uniform with the back. and yes the car will be very low. fk streetlines on a mk4 with the helper springs out.

1.3" adapters all the way around w/ 195/45 and 205/45.

final front et22. rear et15.

Im with the others, anything smaller than a 205 is going to look terrible on an mk4. Run the 205/45, or maybe the 205/40 if your low enough. I really don't think you will be happy with the 195s.

Dude, even a 205/40 is small, if your frame isn't notched, you're not even close to being able to run a 205/40

i want to get the front wheels as flush as possible with the fender without poke so 195/45 would work better than a beefy ass 205/45 or 205/40. i don't see how it would look terrible. make me see the logic behind your opinion because i wanna get this shit right the first time. your opinion counts.
