  • Need help with what offset to order

hello i have an 86 635csi with 17 by 8 1/2 and 13mm offset with 2 and a half inch lip all around and i am running 15mm spacer in the rear which makes it a negative 3 in the rear.

i would like to run 18 by 8 and a half in the front and 18 by 10 in the rear with 2 and a half lip in front and four in the rear what offset should i run to have a little bit of poke so i can do a light stretch up front and heavy strecth in the rear the lip size is what throws me off 4 inch in the rear with what offset? i will keep lip size the same in the front 2 and a half thirteen isnt bad offset for now it can go a bit lower i really need numbers thrown at me i am ordering rims with custom lip size and offset.

this is 13mm in front -3mm in the rear 17 by 8 1/2 and 2 1/2 lip front and rear reason for -3 offset in rear is 15mm spacers

x10 +16 in the rear to have the same fitment as right now. That's usually good for about 4 inches of lip, depending on the wheel. But you can't really choose lip and offset completely independently. Each wheel's design affects the relationship between the two differently.

You would know this better than I could, but it looks like you have room for at least another 25mm you could go in the rear, to have some poke. So if you do the math, you're looking at something in the vicinity of x10 -9, which will have more than 4" of lip. But that's just an estimate from a guy who is looking at pics online.

JUST as an example: Work Euroline DH with O-disk (face with most lip) in 10" -9 has 141mm of lip, which is a little over 5.5"

thanks bro i actually want some poke on the rear to give the illusion that i rub but i dont want to the wheels i am getting are gonna be three piece they ask me lip size and offset seperatly idk much about wheels and offset but that why i'm asking they said i could have any offset but a maximum of 4 inch lip i would like to stretch maybe a 235 or 225 on a x10. what do u think of 4 inch lip with zero offset on a 10 inch rim the front i am pretty much staying the same 8 1/2 with 2 1/12 lip instead of 13 i was thinking 8mm just to fill the flare some more, mike burrough has the best stanced 6er i have seen but no one can give numbers on it.

Can't help you without knowing about the wheels. Sorry dude. You're better off doing the measurements yourself or asking the wheel company these questions. If they're lowering the offset without changing the lip, then they're milling the face differently, and that's something that I can't comment on.

Ah okay, that does make sense- they give the face a thicker disk height to lower the offset, once they've used the deepest lip they have available.

Seems to be a little bit of a shame to custom order and yield less lip than you could get, but then again, 4" is still a healthy looking dish and it's your call.

i'm pretty much set on these wheels but i'm still not sure about the offset for them i would like to be stanceworks worthy hahah but still be able to drive comfortably its my daily, and most likely i will be getting the ground control coils but not til the summer. i wish someone had some for sale there are no bolt on coilovers all i have found require cutting and welding
