Tire help please

Well I am going up to 18s from 17s and need some help on tires. Old setup is 17x9 et20 with falken 912 205/40/17 and I want to keep the same overall height because I done want to raise the car. New wheels are 18x9 et20 so should I go with a 205/40/18 or a 215/35/18? It's the same falken 912. I'm worried about height overall but I'm scared to do 215 because it might rub on the outer portion of the fender. But if the 215/35 is smaller then the 205/40 then I'm golden. Give me your guys input please

215/35 is shorter by a hair. Both tires will be ~.75-1 inch taller than your 17s however. If you want the OD(overall diameter) to remain the same you better go with something like a 205/35 if you can find track some down.
