hey , i would like to know if i could put 17 x 11 offset 61 on the rear of a e36 ? if yes what adapter size should i need ? like 20 mm adapter ? and what tire size should i get for a good stretch ? thanks
Id be willing to bet that you will need at least a 35mm adapter to keep it from hitting your suspension. Easy way to figure it out:
Take the rear wheel off and lower te car slowly on the jack with nothing in the well. Set the wheel in the arch with the car near ride height (not bolted on or on the hub). Measure the distance you would need to clear the strut while compensating a small ammount for compression/camber.
Walk away now. Those are not meant for your ride. They are meant for a corvette or J-body.
You would actually need nearly 45mm spacers to make them clear the strut housing (maybe slightly less would work) I am basing this off of I know 17x9 +40 will work.
Well, the Backspacing on a 17x9 +40 will be 6.57" so we will say 166.85mm is normal B.S.
The backspacing of the 17x11 +61 will be 8.4" which is 213.36mm.
That is 46.5mm difference.
Poke wise, then you are trying to fit a 17x11 +16 wheel on an E36. That is widebody territory
example of a 17x11 et07
You can see how far the rears are pulled, it does not flow that well with the body lines. And you need -NEED- to dial the stance in PERFECTLY. or its gonna end up looking goofy.
here is 10.5 with et15 (its the same as the 11et07) poke wise, the 11 just got a 0.5'' wider barrel.
He was got the stance dialed in perfect. You can also see his arches how round they are compared to the normal. So you must do some body work (almost imposable / if not imposable to flare them that much with out cracking the paint.)
thanks for all the answer , i might not doing it .. since it would be a bit too agressive and nop it is not corvette wheels , they are Oz Gold 17 x 9.5 f and 17 x 11 rear
