I had these wheels and tires laying around from my old '79 monte carlo project from when I was a teenager, figured I would bolt them up and see how they fit... they rub quite badly but I think I can get them to fit pretty easily...

its just on bilsteins and H&Rs

Think I can pull the lip out enough and roll it to clear these?

so, yeah I know its not the usual "stanced" style but its very different than most. the car has no back seat and I already have an eprom emulator, rising rate FPR, exhaust flanges and a big VGT holset turbo, plan on running 10 psi or less for about 300 whp.

Oh and I biught the car running/driving for $700 a few months ago.

This is what I have now:

I had this 20vT project for a while:

This started it all for me:

oh and I had this $300 beater when gas was $5 a gallon in '08 and I was DDing a pathfinder 120 miles daily.

mehh ill state my opinion when i see all that stuff finished, and when all 4 wheels are matching.
sounds like youve got some big plans and a lot of work ahead of you, good luck with the build!

well this was just a test fit, and the car is more or less a beater, if it blows up I wont really care all that much. I missed RWD and wanted tomsthing to mess with.

I thought I would **** the look of the wheels/tires but wanted to test fit to see how the GM pattern (4.75" or 120.64mm) would bolt up to the BMW pattern (120mm) and it actually woks out quite well despite not being "right"

I might say screw it and just get cragar Soft-8's in 17x9" amd 17x8"... that might be more your guys speed/style:

awful is a pretty relative term, especially on a forum like this...

some people might think baby-blue centered wheels on a silver car is awful.

and besides the wheels were "free" (sitting in my shed for the past 9 years) and the car is a $700 beater.

I guess I was wrong in thinking that a "different from the norm" forum like this might sort of dig the weirdness... oh well.

Not trying to come off as a dick or anything, but just because something is different and weird doesn't automatically make it cool. If it's out of the norm and looks good then you'll get props, but when it comes back to doing something different for the sake of doing something different, it usually doesn't end well.

I don't get it, is this an intro thread? Or a build thread? or what? Why would you post this in the showroom section? Just sayin, it's obviously not a finished product, and you're asking for advice (never a bad thing) but this should probably be moved to a different section of the forum.

oh, and as far as an opinion on those wheels, it could work, maybe some smaller sized tires, what size are the wheels anyways? They look a little small for a 5 series, could work, since you got them for free it wouldn't hurt to try I guess.

You don't seem to have been paying attention. I know weird/different =/= cool.

What looks good is relative, what you think looks good I might ****, and vice-versa.

I didn't do it "to be different" I had the wheels laying around and figured I would give it a shot...

And like I said, it was mostly a bolt pattern test fit, I thought it looked kinda cool though. It obviously would look better with matching fronts, but the fronts I had on the monte were skinnier and smaller tires on 14x7s which I dont think will fit over the brakes...

sorry, I'n new here (This is post#5 I think?) and you may be right... this might be in the wrong section. if so and a mod is reading this, feel free to move it.

It was sort of an intro and I had some questions.

moved this to the wheels forum since its not a build, finished car or intro.

this isn't a forum about different shit, its about stance. Lately the content has been watered down thanks to posts like this. This forum is accepting to all types of cars in that its not brand specific, but the people who are here, are here to see cars with stance. You can dislike the color of my wheels, or my car, but its dumped on coils with proper fitment and stretched tires, exactly what this forum is about.

"proper fitment" and "stretched tires" sounds like an oxymoron to me, but OK.

I personally do not have a problem with your car either.

I guess "stanceworks" really means "a specific stance, works" of which criteria my car does not fit, despite it having a far from stock stance...

My apologies for watering down your forum, I will go on my way.
