    He's changing the barrel size and I believe he wants to know if he can still clear the rear strut.

    1+1=2, why would it affect the break clearance if you add a bigger lip. The only thing that the wider lips bring with the, its a helluva lot more awesomeness and clearance "problem" between the fender and lip.

    1+1=2, why would it affect the break clearance if you add a bigger lip. The only thing that the wider lips bring with the, its a helluva lot more awesomeness and clearance "problem" between the fender and lip.

    can i get some quote recognition?

    it's not too confusing as long as you consider offset is measured from the centerline of the wheel. when narrowing/widening the wheel from 1 side of the centerline (i.e. new lip OR new barrel) you are only moving the centerline half of the amount changed.

    changing the width x amount only changes the centerline x/2 which is where offset is measured from. all you ever need to know:

    +1" lip = -12.7mm offset
    +.5" lip = -6.35mm offset
    -.5" lip = +6.35mm offset
    -1" lip = +12.7mm offset

    +1" barrel = +12.7mm offset
    +.5" barrel = +6.35mm offset
    -.5" barrel = -6.35mm offset
    -1" barrel = -12.7mm offset

    The car is stored and I can't go see it right now. At the moment they're 15x9 et00 and if I add 1'' to the rear barrels they'll be 15x10 et25.

    What are the specs of your RS right now? 15x9 et 38ish?
