  • Old school wheels for E30 with 5x120.

Hey there stancers from all around the world! I've just sent my BMW E30 2-door to the bodyshop to get some new paint, Sepang Bronze Metallic! After seeing this feature about the StanceWorks E21 I just had to have that color. Later I'm adding a S50B30 engine, E30 M3 rear trailing arms with E36 M3 brake discs and caliper, E30 M3 front struts with same setup as the rear, making it 5x120, not 4x100. Therefore I'm on the search for some old school (see the E21 link posted in the end to see what I'm meaning by "old school") rims for my ride.

I'd like to have a set of rims with the center painted the same color as the car. Anyone know of such rims, or do they even exsist in 5x120? They have to be 16-17" due to the large brakes, and I'd like them to be at least 8.5"/9.5" wide front to back.

    Thanks for tips and suggestions!

I think this thread is going to head in the direction that your last one did. People are going to suggest wheels that are extremely rare, or that you wont like, then get frustrated when you start shooting everyone down.

How about rather then copy Neeks E21 in an E30 chassis, you find a set of wheels that look nothing like the Ronals on his car. You're asking for advice, I gave it, take it how you see it.

It won't, as I am fully open to any suggestions at this topic. I should've created the last topic several months ago, when I was starting researching for the color of my choosing, but I didn't. Unfortunately I had already made up my mind, but I suppressed it because I was afraid of the outcome. I am terribly sorry if I sounded like a douche shooting down the ideas suggested, and I humbly apologize

My intentions was not to copy his build. I've been a fan of the Sepang Bronze Metallic since it hit the stores, but when I saw the E21 the color really made me see rainbows and unicorns - amazing. And the rims, my intention was not to get rims looking like Ronals, but rather something that fits into the era of my car, something classy, but sassy you can say. I'll pick up several sets of rims, such as OZ Futura's later on, but I'd just like to see what's out there for my picking, as I've not been browsing rims more than the standard OZ Futura, Keskin KT1 etc.

So Oxer, and the people that replied in my previous post, I am terribly sorry, my intention was not to come off as a douche : (

        All good dude,

I cant suggest anything when it comes to euro, Im Japanese at heart. Im guessing you would want to stick to a euro theme with the car though?

Always a good and classy choice: BBS RS.

Maybe some other mesh-type of wheel, as I think that's the most classic wheel type out there.

                Hartge splits.
AC schnitzer type1 racing. (never seen on execute them properly on a non m3 e30.)

Thanks for inspiration guys! I've looked over the sticky thread in this section over resources, think it made my day, a lot of good rims in there! Yeah, BBS RS are classic I've been drooling over Hartge splits, perhaps that's the rims in my forseeable future? The AC Schnitzer Type1 Racing rims really fits the E30 M3, the normal E30 I don't know, I'll try to find some pictures of it.

Oxer, yeah, going with classic euro style, hehe. Dr. AK, mesh-type? Will that mean similar looking to the BBS RS, or have I gotten the mesh-style wrong? My first language is not English, so sorry for spelling errors/misunderstandings.

Ollie, I saw those earlier, if I only had money to spend at this time! Just spent a couple of thousand dollars on getting my car painted, so low on cash at the moment.. Hope they're out on the market for a while!
