Going to a smaller tire......

Right now I have 215/40 stretched on a 17x9 wheel. If I run a 205/45 how close will it be to the same height with the stretch compared to my 215/40? or should I go with 205/40?

Diameter: 215/40/17 on 9J -> 603.8mm
205/45/17 on 9J -> 616.3mm

So i don't know what exactly want to do, but i'll prefer 205/40/17
