  • ||| Question: Side wall height variation and its effects when stretching |||

    Hey Everyone,
Sort of a noobie question I always wanted to ask. Simply put.... If you take a pair of rims with the same width. Lets say, 16x8. And run a 195/40/16 and compare it besides a 195/45*/16 (same tire brand) does the smaller (shorter) side wall generaly or always give more of a stretch as compared to the taller side wall?? ie; 40 vs 45 series. Granted, tyres stretch differently from brand to brand, but I ask this in a general prospective. Anybody?

Yes. Angle relative to the wheel is more acute with a short sidewall.
