  • 17X9.5 on E36

For the rear, if I were to put a 17x9.5 wheel, what offset would I need to make the rims flush with the fender, after a little roll? I know if I go 17x9, it'd be ET20 but how about 17x9.5? &Would it fit without hitting anything once I slammed the car on coilovers? Cus if not then I'll just stick to the 9's. Any help is appreciated!

9.5 et26 would poke the same as a 9 et20, but you would have 12mm less inner clearance. I don't know e36s so I don't know if you would run into any troubles with losing that clearance or not.

Thanks, yeah I've been browsing a few forums trying to find out what offset I'd need if I got 17x9.5's. Cus I know if I do 17x9 it'd for sure be ET20. It's gonna be my DD and I don't want to have to do major work just to get the 9.5's to clear.

I run 17" x 9.0" in the back with a et20. Tire sits tucked far in the rear fender good stuff man

                      I'm running 17x9.5 et 19 with 225/45 tires

With a very basic roll on the rear fenders ive got a perfect flush fit, with very little rubbing. (once the lettering wears off of the tires i doubt it'll rub at all)

                        I run style5's e36 centric,

                        17x8 et17 - 215/45 (3mm spacer to clear m3 brakes)
                        17x9 et22 - 235/45

Front is quite low and no scraping with 2deg camber, rear could be lower, and heaps of scraping on corners or with fat friends.

rear is rolled and flared, but should be fine when i get 40profile tyres and correct my camber/aligment all round.

Also need more low and poke, but that comes after strech

Hi don't mean to hijack your thread but have the same question but:

are there any e36 with 17x9.5 up front too?

And what size tyres are recommened? 205's bit much?

I'm not running 17"s, but 16s, 9.5 ET25 up front. Should give you a rough idea of outward dimension.
