Can someone answer a Karmann Ghia question for me. I've been looking for one to pick up. But I like the ones with the round turn signals. All I keep finding is the ugly rectangular ones. Is there a certain year that has the circular ones? Or are they only available in other countries? All the pictures i see of the round ones seem to be from other countries. All the ones I seem to find in the region are around 1972.

To answer the above question about Karmann Ghias....
1955-1969 = Small round turn signals
1970-1974 = Big ugly turn signals
1955-1960 = Lowlight Ghia ,much more $$$ ,rare , healights are lower then the later models ,small tailights
1966 = Lots of "one year" only parts , tough to restore correctly
1969= Very desirable , first year for the 1600 dual port engine and independent rear suspension but it still has the round turn signals.
Ive had my 69 for a couple of years and they are a blast....but do yourself a favor and find one with a rust free body in good shape. Check the rockers , wheel well , battery are and inside nose panel (in the trunk) for signs of damage or rust. These are hand made one piece body cars and are very prone to rust. Id rather have one with a good body and no motor rather then a rusty one with a top of the line 2400 cc turbo motor.....1969 Karmann Ghia
1985 E24 635CSi
1996 Mitsubishi Pajero SR

Thanks a lot guys. That's way more information than I expected to get back.
I'll just have to keep an eye out for a clean body deal!

Mine might as well be included on this action...
check it out, I had to move the fenders up and cut 4" off of the bottom to clear the earth... the front sheet metal is still touching the pavement... sweet...
I had to lift it some to drive it, but it still has an evil stance
the chevelle hiding in back is in the progress of getting a redo that should gel nicely here as well.
