Hooked my original BMW carphone up to the steering wheel buttons. I now have a fully working radio and OEM carphone from the steering wheel buttons.Originally posted by starbai View Postdetails
All left to do is cruise control, which I have to retrofit completely.

No, Motorola "D-Netz" GSM. Still fully functional and is my hands-free phone when I'm in my car. Using a mobile phone while driving is illegal over here. So what nicer way than fully OEM setup.Originally posted by Burn535i View Postpost pics of phone. is it the old BMW Motorola StarTac

I realize I don't have any daylight pics of it. Need to take some. It's the last style curly-cord brick phone (which I like so much), with the higher res display that does away with the little control lights above the screen.
Here's some generic pics.
Oldest module, I think this one is US specific with the text control light on top instead of just symbols. Model: CMT3000VR

Euro(?) 1st gen with all the symbol control lights on top. This one does match the BMW dot-matrix exactly.

And then there's the last model, which I have. Love it. Only shame is that for some reason they did away with the negative display, which all other BMW dot-matrix screens are.
*see my pics*
Also note the different key layout/functions.
As they operate on GSM900mhz, they won't work in the US, but do in Europe. As you can see on my pic, I have 5 (full) bars of signal strength.Last edited by MParallel; 05-23-2010, 08:11 PM.
