The 2 by 2's were never very popular ........... they have a longer wheel-base and a totally different "back-half" shape:
Datsun continued making 2by2's through the 80's ....... 280zx 2by2:
There's nothing abnormal about a 2+2. They were simply Datsun's way of offering an economic people moving sports car. The only downside if any, was that the 2+2's did not come with a turbo. That goes for the 300Zx and Z Turbo(s) as well.
I used to own a 280z 2+2, with a swapped 280zx turbo motor. Dang I miss that car.
