yes that weather stripping lip does help protect my stillen front lip. and it just started dangling recently because the middle part came off. i always replace it when its all torn up. only 8 bucks. dylan just told me not to worry about it for the pics. but i was still worrying about it. lol. so yeah that thing is on there for its purpose. if it wasnt for that, the bottom of my stillen lip would be WHITE/BLACK
