Yes, the lip is from a early 90's Passat. You probably know more about them than I do.

Animal, it is funny you said that because my insperation was a motorcycle exhaust.

I had it coated white for that classic style. There are not enough white exhaust pipes anymore. Check out the race cars from the fifties and sixties. Unfortunately the coating did not stick very well. I love the "haggard" comment. What is cool about this car with the engine in the back is that you can do interesting stuff like this that you cannot do with too many other cars. My intent was to get the exhaust up high so there would be plenty of room for a rear diffuser.

The exhaust is one of my favorite things about the car. It makes downshifting so much fun.

But it looks like this car will be sold this weekend. Time to make room for a new project.
