  • Hey all - new guy here

So, I literally just joined StanceWorks. I found out about this website through Google (particularly a search on the Zombie E28 that I'm sure everyone here knows about )

My current car and current project has been something of an odd child in the modifying world (or at least that's what I like to think). It's a 2000 E39 528i, premium package, non sport, and an automatic (I would prefer stick though but sometimes beggers can't be choosers). The car used to be my Aunts when it was leased new through BMW and she basically put zero miles on it over a thre year lease.

I picked it up at the ripe old age of 17 with some financial help from my family as they wanted me to have a safe car but also a good car. Fast forward to the present and 5 years of ownership I have seen the vehicle transform in front of my eyes. To think that I never had any plans to modify this car is funny because a majority of the changes have come over the last two years. Here are some recent photos that I have taken of my car...

There are too many mods to list on here at this point but I will say they're all fairly extensive. Mechanically, the car just has bolt-ons but I'm hoping by next year I will be able to complete a majority of my remaining mod list.

You can see the entire mod list here on my CarDomain page.

Some of my upcoming projects are going to be "Neffy" wrapping my interior trim (extensively) and converting the entire outside to the much better looking shadow line trim.

This car is not meant to be a show winner and it's not meant to be a feature ride in a magazine. It's just something that makes me happy and I've enjoyed working/changing the appearance of this E39 over the last couple of years and I think that's the most important thing in all of this.

Welcome! Personally I'm not a fan of Beyern wheels but they work pretty well with the rest of the car, especially once you get the shadowline done.

Nice! Makes me wish I didn't have to sell my E39 to buy the M3. Wish I could have afforded to have both

Could use some coilovers, but otherwise looks great. Welcome to the site.

I looked at a 528 awhile back just like that one...used to be. I passed and a week later it blew the motor, thank god.

Car looks cool minus the beyerns.

Looks pretty cool - I'd like the wheels better if they were one inch larger though.

New wheels and go lower and that will look sick.

I like them a lot at first, but now I'm thinking about some Linea Corse LM's and the shadowline conversion is a must at this point.

I think between the two an M3 is a whole lot better. Saving for an E92 as we speak!

I agree, originally I was happy with the 1.3" drop with the H&R's/Bilstein sports but now I'm thinking KW coilovers sometime next year.

                        Yeah, that is definitely fortunate.

I originally wanted 19's, but with the road conditions locally I wanted to stay safe with slightly larger wheels. I may pick up an additional set for shows/photos and stuff. We'll see.
