  • tint or not to tint...and why?

i wanna tint because the kids car seats get so hot i cannot sit them down when we are finished goofing off somewhere out in the world.

but it seems some here have a penchant against tint?

Personally I don't like how tints look, but its your call, I don't you should get tints just because the rear seats get too hot, I would get those suction cup window screens that you can get for like $10 a piece, those work just fine, and are easily removed.

Depends on the car... with that said, I have 20% on my windshield so you can gather which side of the fence I'm on

Or go all the way and retrofit some sun blinds for the rear doors from a 5 or 7-series

i'd tint it. I know fishbowl is cool and all but in my case when you live in florida and its 85+ for most of the year, it gets old. Plus the UV blockers protect the interior.

kids>car. truth. see if i can make the shade retro fit for cheap first, since the kids dont ride in the red wagon because, "its too bumpy" and " they feel quesy", whimps.

yes tint, i got mine like day 2 of owning the car, its great. keeps the interior much cooler, which with black is nice. you know you could just do some on the rear windows for the kids.. i think thats legal in all 50 states too

I'd tint the f**k out of it. The beemer sunblinds tend to stick and break.

who says heat rejection and uv protection has to be a dark colored film? get the 3M cyrstalline window film. its clear.

I used to be all about tint. I've crossed over to the "light" side. I think a car just looks classier or cleaner with no tint. Especially if the interior is worth looking at.
