Those are an easy DIY. Take em apart, soak the bolts in Coca Cola overnight, then wirebrush them clean. Pick up a gallon of aircraft paint stripper for the centers to strip the old clear coat off and then polish the faces and lips up.

bringing this thread back from the dead -- i lowered the car some more over the weekend. haha.

the bottom shock adjustment on the rear is maxed out. crap. so i think i have to play with spring droop or something to get the rear lower, unless i'm doing something wrong. the rear's now about 1.5" lower than it was.

the front is maxed out because the damn original spring is so long, so i didn't touch that. i'm saving some cash for a pair of swifts.

sigh. what should i do about the rear? hahaha

    thank you

the cup kit is a little aluminum canister with a rubber bellows (or seals -- i haven't actually seen one taken apart before). when deflated, the canister becomes solid, so at drive height, with the exception of a bit of weight, there isn't any detriment to performance. so you can have your cake AND eat it too -- essentially, you can drive super low and stiff, while having the ability to raise the car too when you come to a speed bump or whatever.

anyway, thinking of getting that setup, but it's expensive as hell (bold world's catalog lists the add-on cup kit setup for 449,400 yen, which at current exchange rates is about $4600 us, compared to like $2k for a UAS setup), so i've been saving my pennies. haha.

you grab a stack of newspapers (or phone book), jack the car up, stick the newspapers between the tire/wheel and the fender, lower the car, then have some fat friends (actually, i'm pretty fat myself. didn't really need any friends HAHA) jump up and down in the trunk. it'll push out the fender just enough to fit whatever wheels you have on there, and keep the original fender shape. none of that herpes duckbill crap you see on zilvia.

thanks for all the comments. the car's ride WAS pretty smooth until i installed front tension rods 3 days ago. i'm thinking of taking them off and living with a fucked up front end alignment instead. my teeth were chattering rolling down the 10 freeway today past cal poly pomona. no bueno for a luxury car
