  • Hella Hyphy, Sick Cars, and Backsplash

Here is some visual documentation and a little story to acknowledge the good times and hospitality in the Bay Area. Special thanks to Brian, Sean, and Brad for the hospitality and lols. I would also like to acknowledge Arris for showing up at our shoot and turning it out with a sick ride.

    Thursday (Day 1)

Arrived in San Jose, checked into the hotel, settled in the family and headed for Brians place to hang out with Sean and Brian. I have no pictures, but they were nothing less than impressed when I showed up with a 22 of Busch Light and some Popeyes chicken.

    Friday (Day 2)

Daughter played and won her first two games of the National Junior Olympic tournament.

Decided to take a little time with the wife to see what downtown San Jose had to offer in the way of architecture and community.

Then headed back over to Brians for a bit and got a huge surprise. As I pulled into the neighborhood I noticed a ridiculous amount of cops. I paid no mind and went to Brians. Then Sean and I heard the police telling everyone to go inside and do not leave their houses, we decided to do what any reasonable citizen would do and go check it out. I grabbed my camera and unfortunately only had a wide angle lense with me so the shots are not that great for the situation.

Nothing could really top that so I just took a few pics of the Lincoln and then headed back to the hotel.

    Friday (Day 3)

Went to two more of my daughters games. 1-1 on the day but still in contention for the Gold.

Went back to hotel for a few beers and then took a nap as Sean was getting off of work late and we had plans of a photoshoot for the night.

Met up with Sean, Brad, Arris, and another cool guy at Popeye's to go out on a light night shoot.

The official shoot of my trip. The company was great, everyone had a laugh and we got some decent shots.

After a night of shooting, I decided I wasn't going to make it back to the hotel without taking care of a little 2am bidness.

        Day 4 (Saturday)

Daughter won her first game and lost her second game putting her team to play for 5th place in the tournament tomorrow. (This is a national tournament)

The girls were visibly shaken but played great and should be able to win their only game tomorrow. I came back to the hotel and ordered a pizza and then proceeded to drink 110 dollars worth of Heineken on my room tab. My wife is pretty pissed and I am buzzing nicely. I will update here with more pics of my return trip along Pacific Coast Highway.

I was actually saddened with the way Seans pictures turned out. The lighting seemed fined, the pics looked legit on the camera, uploaded and bam! shitty lighting. Oh wells. If the lights in the main parking lot wouldn't have auto turned off at 2 am I could have provided much better coverage of Seans car.

You must be confused. Driving with these guys is a riot and an environmentalists nightmare. Burning rubber on every turn, throwing sparks on elevation changes, and somebody had oil leaking from the valve cover and it would hit the mani and burn up on every incline. It smelled like a smorgasboard of awesomeness.

One of the cops actually pulled up after we had posted and said "Do you guys see the 20 or so officers with their weapons drawn right there?"

Me. "Yes, why do you think we are standing here taking pictures."

How are you gauging how low my car is? If you're lookin at my lip, its at a gas, station which is rarely level... I'm tucking a stretched 205/40 on an 8.5...

Yeah dont look at the front lip, look at the front of the side skirt! The frames is probably another 1/2" lower than that at least.

Frame is just about 2" off the ground
