Im Vince, and here is one of my long term projects. been on here a while but finally getting to debut the car since its second major overhaul.
The Car_ I am the sort of second owner. it is a 1990 300zx 5 speed original owner was my aunt. I bought it from her about 8 years ago and have been modding ever since. currently has 60k original miles, and yes, that is the original paint(other then the jspec front and the shaved rear wiper). car has seen rain only a few times in its life. This build has been ongoing for almost all 8 years, and every aspect of the car has been worked on and modified in my garage. Engine, transmission, suspension, interior, you name it.
The last six-seven months have been solid hours placed just on perfecting stance. My goals for the car have never changed over the years and i am happy to say this step is bringing it much closer
Clean lines, minimalist design style that highlights the body lines of the car and accentuates the low wide aggressive stance of the car.
Info on current wheel setup for this season:
HRE competition series C21 color- competition gold
19x9.5 +8 fronts 235/35/19 camber -2
19x12 +10 rears 285/30/19 camber -4
Suspension currently Powertrix Race ultralite- sitting at 24.0" to the top of fender (car has been lowered a bit more since these pictures)
It is hard to explain the solid hours that it took over six months to get this car to fit these wheels, all while retaining the clean untouched look. pulling fenders many many times, a little at each time so as to not flare, the rear bumper was trimmed, the mounts for bumper to fender were moved back, etc. then onto camber, toe, height, etc. The main concern here was the paint. There was not an option to crack paint on an original 20 year old car that has never been painted. Patience was key here and i learned a lot of patience just from owning this car. lol
some pics of the rear wheel and the stretch on the rear. 285 on a 12"
and one of the wheel. color more vivid in real life
Would love to see this as an Exclusive headline or to make the blog coverpage.
