Who remembers this car?
Unfortunately, a month or so back it got hit and totaled. Sitting at a light waiting for it to turn and some asshole nails me. All he had to say for himself was he wasn't paying attention. This is why we can't have nice things. Insurance was a prick and wouldn't let me buy it back, so it's off in auction land somewhere now.
The plan is to find another one, but the fact that these aren't exactly easily attainable is making that a slow process to find the right one. So in the mean time I picked something up to mess around in and save some money.
I've always wanted a VW so I went on the search. I seem to have a penchant for rare cars. I managed to find myself one of these...
1984 Jetta GLI
170k miles. Shitty respray. Poorly running CIS 8v. And the fury of 85hp, when it was new. I would say currently this beat must be laying down around 45 to the wheels.
Anyway, I picked up a cheap set of coils for the car and have begun making it my own. Here are a couple shots of the progress so far...
The car won "Most Driven" at a local show this past weekend. Think of it as "Beater Class" lol. I have a set of Maserati BiTurbos i am currently working on refinishing. In the mean time the Votex Wheels will do. I ***** them at first but they have grown on me a lot.
