  • tire question!

so i need new tires pretty bad, but i haven't bought any because i can't decide on what tire size to go with. i don't care much about performance at all just want a nice fitting tire.

i have 16x7.5 and i want a decent amount of stretch. im running 205 40's right now but im not liking them to much

id like to run 10mm spacers in the rear and maybe 5's up front, but i only want the wheel poking, not the tire. any idea what size tire i should run?
sorry about the long post, i just need to buy tires soon so i need some help.

I run a 205/40 on an 8.5 wheel. I'd probably go with a slightly smaller tire for that size if you want a bit of stretch.

DO NOT buy Toyo's if you want stretch. They have sidewall protectors in the tire and they don't roll over like other brands... I like Falken's and Riken's.

Run a narrow 195/40. If you're not rubbing too much now with 205s, you should be good with a 195 and the 10/5mm spacers.

          thanks for the help guys.
i rub pretty bad right now, even with a full tank of gas it rubs so i wasn't sure if 195 40 would be enough. i'll see if i can get some test fitted before i buy.

Euro tire?! why would you say that.
I can get a hold of some-
                            165/45-16 Nankang NS2
                            165/40-16 Nankang NS2 And Ultra Sport2.
Oh well, i'm in europe. But i would think you should be able to get some Nankang's over there.

He says that because it's a European only size... meaning you can only get them in Europe. You live in Europe, this guy lives in the states thats why you can find them and he cant.

To the OP, you can sometime find Euro sizes on forums and some specialty websites will get small shipments of tires from time to time, you will pay big bucks though. the cost to ship them from Europe is very high, you should expect to pay between $100-$140 per tire for a low end brand like Nankang and between $170-$200 per tire for a high end tire like a Continental
