Im getting a set of 17x8.5 rims to put on my e28 and I have the option of 225/45 tires and 235/45 tires. Which would look the best? I know wider is better but with 225s, I would get a bit of a stretch and I think it would look great. Opinions?

If you only have the choice between the mentioned specs go with the 225s. However I don't think they will stretch that much. -
If you can get some 215/45 or 205/50 they are almost the same as the 225/45...
I run 215/45 (F) and 225/45 (R) on 7.5 and 9x17 without any problems...Comment

225 is the minimum tire I can put on those rims so I think I'll do that. Also, what kind of snow tire set ups are you guys running? I have a set of shitty 14"s and I was thinking of painting part of some of them brown or black and then leaving some patches of silver and scratches to get that look and then doing 195/70s. I think that even with all that sidewall, it would actually look kind of goodComment
