You know, if you squint your eyes a little and use a bit of imagination, that Caddy looks kinda similar to the generation of Audi A8 I have... I need those wheels, hahaha.
Well damn, not long after posting the last pics the engine decided to go and chew itself to bits. The dreaded Northstar head gasket issues made themselves known, so with the help of some friends we tore the whole drivetrain out and took the heads off.
Turned out it wasn't just the regular deal - as an added bonus all the valves were bad, all the cam followers were shot, and a lobe on one of the intake cams was almost completely ground off. Funny thing is, one couldn't even feel it while driving. After that our new camshaft broke in half while trying to press the water pump drive pulley onto it, so that set us back another few weeks (Cadillac parts aren't exactly readily available in Poland.)
For the head bolts, we ended up drilling out the block holes and re-threading them to accept larger diameter studs from a diesel KIA. So far, they've held up fine.
Now that it's back on the road again I got some camber plates from a BMW e46, after dialing in a little camber it finally stopped rubbing constantly and maybe I can set it down a little lower.
