  • Family Hauler: another low D2 Audi

figured I'd toss up a few pics of my recently refreshed A8. Car was purchased in 08 by my father used with 68K on it. Recently it has just been sitting in the driveway as it needed some repair. My wife and I found out we are having our third child in August. So after dumping my CC that sits 4...I decided to undertake getting the A8 back to road going glory. The number of cars that will fit 3 car seats across the rear seat are few and far between. The A8L is one of them though. So much to my wife's and my bank accounts dismay...the A8 got repaired and bagged with some large rollers.

disclaimer: yes I need new lug bolts as well as more artistic pictures

That looks Boss! I would love to get my hands on a A8 or a 7 series Bimmer.

    Yours looks fantastic!

Can I ask what the repairs were? I knew the trans in the D2's were problematic. Ive been looking at a D2L as a possible C6 replacement.

The repairs thus far have been. All calipers, rotors, pads, power steering lines, a fog light grille, timing belt kit, front control arms, new flex joints for the exhaust, a n80/pcv valve, and an o2 sensor.

Also put the air ride and wheels on. Waiting on going to 20x10.5 all around rather than the 9.5 they are now.

Car was a chicago, then Syracuse NY....who uses more salt on their roads than anywhere so most people won't have to worry about the power steering lines nor any of the corrosion on the steel parts of the car

This is relevant to my interests since I also own a A8.

Which air kit did you go with?

It is airlift fronts and custom brackets with ss-5 rear bags. To get lower involves massaging of the fender wells/raintray trying to decide on my best course of action at this point
