  • Haven't posted in forever, I figured it's overdue.

Many of you may remember me for my last build which was a 2012 Chevy Malibu. My avatar still displays it pretty sure. Well that car has been gone for a while now. Since then, I've been tinkering with a Pontiac Solstice. It's a real overlooked underdog platform which is why I chose to buy it. I'm sharing it with the Stanceworks fam, because I find the members of this forum are the most open minded and appreciative of oddball builds. Below is some pics from least recent to more recent. Hope you at least find pleasure in the uniqueness of it all. Save the ****, I'm well acquainted with the fact that this car is not for everyone. lol.

    The beginnings ^^^

First wheelset to dial in fitment. 18's were too small for me. Diameter progressively grew. ^^^

Z06 wheels for a little while. experimenting with the larger diameters and double digit widths. Posting the booty shot to show off the ode to the forum.^^^

Most current setup. Wanted the overly icey stanced donk look. 1-off wheelset from LB forged out of cali.^^^

    Those wheels are fucking ridiculous.

    But I kinda like it.

    What's the suspension setup?

        Hello from another NOLA member.

Surprised I haven't seen either car running around town. I did see you selling the red wheels on CL.

The over-the-top-ness of the current wheels is almost enough to make me like them .. if that makes sense.

The solstice is definitely a cool platform though.

I liked it more on 18's I think, but those new wheel certainly are polarizing. Props for trying to do a solstice right, these things deserve more love! Keep it up

Nope, can't say I care for this. Wheels just don't work with the body style at all.

Thanks man. Ridiculous is what I was kind of going for. I'm not going to lie I was nervous ordering those wheels, but I'm glad I did it. I just like risky stuff. Theyre ST coilovers.

Thank you! Yeah I'm the kind of person that if I'm going to spend the money for expensive wheels, I want to ingrain a memory into the brains of those who see it. Even if it means some of the memories may be negative. LOL.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose, but regardless, thank you for the support!

I am actually really liking this build so far. I have always kinda liked this body, probably the sky over the solstice, but this looks really good so far. Nice work!

Nothing that stands out much. An all stock silver E39 wagon and a lowered red E46 wagon on stock wheels. Hopefully I'll find more time in 2015 to do some stuff on my cars.

Thanks man. Yeah most people do choose the sky over the solstice. I agree its more aggressive and modern, but I like the curvy almost retro vibe of the solstice. It's got funk and Ive always been fond of it. Plus its less common in the modification scene.

Yeah, definitely unique. I can appreciate the work that went into it; the stance is on point. It's not even the wheels I dislike, but the car itself. I think the Saturn Sky was a much better design.
