lol that's what happens when you get a group of dudes together. Unlike females though we squash that shit and return to normal after the testosterone goes down.

i think the passion that drives us, can get mis-directed at times.

its important to me to keep true enthusiasts alive, not the ones the ruined SOWO which seem to be so prevalent nowadays.

I applaud your decision to run decent tires on your ride, but you're setting up a false dichotomy between $3-$4k wheels and knock-offs. I roll legit, and my wheels were $1000. I suspect your knockoffs were somewhere in the same neighborhood.

VIA and TÜV certification are the real markers here, not JWL. JWL is self-applied by the manufacturer and can be almost meaningless, whereas VIA and TÜV are independent testing houses.

Also, with all due respect to Rotiform, with how often I see their cast wheels for sale on the used market with cracks or welded repairs, that is not something I would be using as a marker of durability on a vehicle that is being built to survive the rigors of track use.

All I want is for people who buy cheap knockoffs to be honest about the impetus behind the decision, rather than rationalizing it post-hoc and then jumping from one thin rationalization to another when holes are poked in each in turn. We're here to share process, theory, and philosophy of design, to critique, debate, and learn, and that is only successful if we're open and honest about where we're coming from.

    Good post.

But isn't that the entire deal with knock-offs in the first place, that people buy their products not to own something made with quality and intention, but because they think they get all the "cool" without the price?

Look, it's your car, do what you will with it, but the post-hoc rationalization for purchasing knock-offs as being part of some sort of "purposeful intent" does not ring true at all.

that being said, i do have a plan for the next set of wheels which will be more SW friendly.

Thanks for the comments good or bad, in the words of Nakai "any comments on my work I love, the fact I've done something that makes people feel anything is enough."

I think what is troublesome about the "scene" today is the fact that some modify cars be used is "cool" to do and there is no real thought or Intention to their work.
The 19's do seem small but the mustang body is also rather large. For what your're trying to do I would even maybe think about bumping down to 18's? 265 is not a small tire but I am sure there is much more room for 305+ sizes. I am also sure there is room under the hood too for something that whistles.

I'm glad to see people come into SW and aren't here for the lows. Just because your're on this forum and posting your car doesn't mean it needs to be on the floor to look good or that your intentions are to make one with the pavement.

P.S. Your brother kinda needs to chill.

Look, I'm sorry it came down to all of this. But you're right. My opinion doesn't matter. Don't ever let it matter either, anyone's opinion actually. Do what you love, and don't worry about what anyone thinks.

Sorry for calling you a stupid bitch 12, that was uncalled for on my part.

I'm not butthurt. I actually think this guy is hilarious with his delusional thinking.
The funny thing is I obviously have to defend my brother being my blood . I do share the same views as you, I never said I like or support reps. Hopefully my brother can chime in and vouch for it lol I get angry at reps , go look at my build . No reps are seen , never have I run reps or anything of the sort even for my parts. My brother has come from a different era of cars , especially the scene he's from ( mustangs ) I've had the convo with him before about wheels and I still feel strongly about rep's and how company's steal others hard work and dedication to re-create a design in a half assed quality . I guess its just me , but I tend to keep negative comments about wheels etc to myself because it opens up a can of worms ( as has just happened)
I don't support reps but I do support my brother and what he's trying to do , its his money , his car , and his likes. I hope you can see that atleast.
