    tire was a 205/40/16 falken ziex 912 on a 16x9.

the wheel was losing air periodically after i got the tire put on in november, so i knew the sidewall was soft from that. but it's held air for about 3 1/2 months now, so i figured it was gonna be alright. guess not.

In this case this clearly was the fault, but it can happen because of other reasons too...

i heard this is really easy to happen for anyone with a good amount of stretch. You need to constantly, constantly make sure your tire pressure is where it should be, or as said, the car will drive on the sidewall, and it won't take very long to tear.

does it matter how much stretch you have to the amount of psi needed ?

whatever the tire recommends do that +2-5psi depending on the weather. especially in the winter tires loose pressure overnight slowly. mine were rated at 44 and i have them up to 50

i run 36-40 psi in mine. so do most people i know. i know aj f_399 runs 40psi at all times. a few guys i know with fk452's run 45-50. my FTM light comes on when i go 10psi below where it was set at, being at 40 that makes it come on at 30 where im still safe. and whoever said stretch tires dont look flat was right.
