  • German family cars

As I couldn't get my thread title edited, I took the freedom to start a new one If you want to take a peek to my past, you can do it here in my previous thread.

So, as you may already know, I've moved from Volvos, Toyotas etc. to the Bayern sort of cars, aka BMW's.

Currently my garage is filled with:

E46 320d Touring with air suspension (thinking of swapping this for a E39 328i or smth. as I need more room for the family)

    E36 323i Touring

And my latest purchase, an E28 518i 5spd, 258k on the clock (I know the outside looks kinda bad with all the lacquer tearing and stuff, but the engine and drivetrain are in a very good condition, which I think more than makes up for it. And believe it or not, it's nearly rust-free, too )

    Plans for the E36:

    -new front wings and skirts
    -full respray
    -new headlights
    -tinted windows
    -cruise control retrofit
    -LOWER

    Plans for the E28:

    -headlight washer/wiper removal
-chrome arches need to go too
    -new bumpers, maybe M535 ones
    -full respray
    -new exhaust
    -interior cleaning
    -some nice wheels, maybe Hartge
-coilovers or some other suspension kit

Lets see what the future holds.

Ripped the trim off, there was "a bit" of rust underneath

Rear left (this one was also slightly bent as you can tell from the picture):

      Rear right:

      And front right:

The car looked so bad with all the rust and stuff that I decided that it was time for a complete makeover...

Still need to get a hold of new badges and a front bumper, managed to scavenge a tolerable condition rear bumper from friend's storage.

Found a set of 1pc Hartge wheels (staggered 7,5 & 8,5x16") with some minor curb rash on one wheel, also ordered new tires for them as those that were on were some pretty old studded tires. Planning to cut the springs a little, going to get some coilovers fitted later on.

Son also approves. Need to clean the interior a bit and get a new shifter knob and steering wheel.
