looks to be some steel lozenge mesh painted gold and affixed to the car using metal twine between the original kidney grille location

Thanks alot guys for the comments. The grille is a thick rusty net strapped with some steel-thread, and the highbeam-covers comes from a Starlet model old

Im pretty happy with the looks, but considering going down to 225/40/17 insted of todays 235/45/17 to hunt down the extra cm´s to a better fit!
