  • 88 535is finally worth posting I think!

Ive been on the site for along time and have been working on this e28 for coming up on four years. It has come along way since I bought it and I feel like it is finally worth sharing and I have some nice quality pics that show the car off well. There are still alot of plans for the car, and I plan on keeping it for a while.

After running the 16" style 5's for over 2 years it was time for a change and I finally came across a set of wheels I wanted, a staggered set of style 66 wheels from an e39 sport. Wheels are 17x8 et20 front and 17x9 et26 rear with 20mm spacers all around and 205/45R17 Bridgestone Potenzas. The color was not was I expecting when I picked it out and when I first sprayed it I was almost disappointed but it is growing on me. It was supposed to be alot more grey and not teal/greenish at all, just some light hues of blue. For now I am going to enjoy it while I redo the BBS wheels in a new color and find some thicker meatier rubber for those. These will be the street/daily wheels and the BBS will get some 225/45R16 for future track days.

Anyway, heres some pics. Photography courtesy of Grant Wilkinson, pics came out great.

I only have a few good pics with the 16's on. The pics were taken at a local meet at night so the quality is not the best.

      Thanks for looking!

        I like it.

The color of the wheels is nice, even if you can't define what it is,
        its suits the car.
You should try 25mm spacers for the rear and a chrome kidney.

The kidneys are plasti dipped, I go back and forth with them. Right now they're black lol

I've been thinking of a bigger spacer but I'm currently on H&R so the rear is a little soft. I drive the car hard from time to time and freeway ramps are a blast and with the 20mm I don't rub unless there's 2+ people. Coilovers are on the way I just need to get different springs with stiffer rates then I can space it more. I also got these tires for free and I think a 205/40 might come after I burn these up.

Very nice, I like it. Those really look good on an E28 actually...the color even works well.

I think I like the Style 5's better, but both looks are pleasing to the eye.

Thanks for looking everyone. This is my DD as well as project so over time changes will come. Right now the next step is gonna be getting these coilovers going an going lower up front. I would like to find another set of 66's eventually and make a square 9" setup.

Got a flat this morning and the tire is toast. Looks like the 16's are going back on for now.
