  • 9th gen accord on 20x10 Stance SC6

Hello everyone, my name is Cody, and I’m from Phoenix, AZ. This is me 2013 Accord Sedan That I just finished the air ride install this weekend. Here are some specs on the setup.

Front Struts: Airlift Universal adjustable dampening short stroke bellow kit
Rear Struts: Airlift Universal adjustable dampening short stroke sleeve kit
    Compressors: Viair Dual 444C pack
    Tank: 4 gallon polished aluminum
    Management: Airlift V2

    Wheels: Stance SC6 20x10 +35
    Tires: Ohtsu FP8000 245/35

Now onto the best part.... the pictures:

This is right after I put my wheels on.

I was a little worried that they wouldn't tuck. I went to a machine shop to see about having them machine 5mm or so off the back pad. I was told that the most they could do was 2mm, and they would have to install steel inserts in the wheels. I didn't feel like spending $200 for only 2mm, so I left them as is.

Next, my friend and fellow club member, Aaron of Low Form Suspension Lab, made me a bracket for my air management and installed hard lines from the V2 manifold for a cleaner look.

After making sure everything fit in the trunk, I disassembled the rack, and had it painted pearl white to match the car.

Then I reassembled the rack, and mounted it in the trunk on top of floor I made for it.

The floor is made of 1/2" MDF backing and laminate flooring on top. I still have to adjust the height of the floor since I had to cut it right in front of the rack to gain access to the spare tire.

After all the stock suspension was pulled, we cycled the suspension to see how much drop was possible.

In order for the front to go this low, the front struts would have to collapse to 12" tall or shorter. The short stroke kit is 13.5" tall, so the final height would be almost 2" higher than this. If you could find 12" or shorter struts, it IS possible to be this low. We did have to roll and pull the fenders quite a bit for the final result.

In the rear, once we rolled and pulled the fenders, it tucked the wheels nice and smooth.

Here are some pictures of the struts all welded up thanks to Andy at All Day Fab. In the front, he took some 2" OD tubing, and put it on the lathe to remove .01" in order for it to fit nice and snug in the lower mount. Once it was welded to the bottom of the strut he cut a piece of 2" tubing to weld on as a brace, and cut a notch in it for access to the dampening adjustment knob. Then he cut and added a tab for the sway bar links.

In the rear he used his plasma cutter to cut a plate for the lower mount, then bent and welded them.

And now onto the best pictures...... the car all laid out........

Good luck with those wheels, bought set of Stance wheels years ago, the clear coat peels off within a year, and the air valve rubber part is dry rotted to hell, the worst wheels I've ever bought.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I still have a lot of things planned for it too. Intake and exhaust, black painted roof and mirrors, different trunk setup with stereo, painted trim in the interior and engine bay, brake upgrade and a few other things.

Chigga, thanks for the info, ill be sure to keep an eye on that stuff. Luckily I bought them from a great friend/shop, so im sure if anything happens, he'll take care of me...
