  • Arch extension styling advice...

So I'm building a UK Vauxhall Nova with a space framed chassis converted to rwd using nissan s14a running gear and SR20DET motor. For those folks over the pond this is what the standard car looks like...

I'm going to need to run some fairly big extensions on mine...

Now do I fillet like so...

    Or flare like so...

    Or maybe a combo?

    Thoughts and suggestions appreciated

Since your using a space frame, chop the shell straight down the middle and extend

Regarding your questions: If you're going for more of a motorsports look, I'd do something like the above, if you want to keep the car more stock-ish looking, just widen your fenders as much as you need while retaining the stock looks, heh.

No info on that car I'm afraid, can't even remember where I got the pic now!

The car is for pure track use, track focused and unlikely to be used on the road. The above has an E30 M3 feel to it I think.

            I vote fillet.

That car doesn't have the body lines for flares like that

              or even chevette flares?

not the prettiest things in the world.

Thanks for the reply. Not really a big fan of the style tbh besides, trying to source a kit might be interesting! Ideally I'm looking for a universal solution or just custom fab something.

I've trimmed the original flare back in order to get a wheel fitted. The wheel needs to come up about another 10-20mm then allow for around 25mm further upwards travel. The plan is to trim up to the pencil line and try a flare for size and see how it looks...

I like the flares for kindof a stockish look but the box flares give it kind of an old school racer touch which I like, especially with the wheels you've got.
