Why? Simply because they get the Scirocco and we don't The roof-lines on these things are SO bad-ass! Add a set of bags, some 20x9 RS4-style wheels, and this is what you get!

Go ahead, ask why he would spend so much more than a GTI on a car that just looks cooler? Simple, really.. he didn't! They're priced pretty much identically!

So you're telling me that you don't see this car being leaps-and-bounds better looking ("cooler") than a GTI?

You could probably go to germany, pick one up, have it shipped here, and still pay about as much as you would for a new gti from a US dealer.

That WOULD be nice, wouldn't it? But you'll find that the sticker on a Scirocco with the 2.0T that comes in the GTIs will get you EASILY above $35k US... plus shipping... plus the fact that you'll never be able to drive it down the road without worrying that getting pulled over will cause it to get crushed.

Yes, well, we europeans are awesome like that. We get cool cars and such. You guys don't have the TÜV - fair trade off.

Pretty big misconception there. Most cars are actually cheaper in the US than what they're being sold in Germany for.
