  • my static yet '97 mk3 vento...

    Hi everybody,
Greetings from Czech Republic. I want to introduce you my '97 mk3 Vento (euro version of jetta). It's a mystery blue, 1,8i 66kW engine, GT seats, GT side skirts, GT front grill and GT lip. In interior I'm rockin' woody BBS Steering wheel and mk1 GTI Golf Ball shift knob.

I own this car since february 2012 and first year I was rolling on JOM coilovers and Schmidt Modern Lines 9x16 ET30 allover with 195/40 falkens.

But this year I've did framenotch for right axle and putted on camber plates, KW V2 coilovers without helper springs. I wanted Kerscher Carmona wheels, allover 9x16 but with ET15. I didn't wanted to roll out fenders or putting on GT plastic fenders, so I've must to put on cambers. At front was camber so big, that axles bumped into diff and destroyed it. So next plan was change the gearbox and shorting the axles. At rear subframe I've putted on som camber too. Wheels are wrapped with 195/40 tires too.

I think they've fitted well - for a static fitment.

    here are some photos:

                  that's impressive for being static!

What spring rates you running to keep that vrear fender from contacting the lip or is it a case of if it hits no worries?

                    Thanks everybody.

by the way, rear end is on rubber stops so fender don't contact with lip.

and for next year, car is going to air setup - goal is to lay frame in front and get fenders between lip & tyre. So I hope that it come out...
and in plan are some more little changes so stay tuned

Nice. It is easy to make old Volkswagens to look good with just small changes.
