I've got two Saturns so this isn't entirely off the wall... I'm quite interested! There is a local guy with a Mazda swapped Escort GT. That thing hums through the 1320 in the high 12's.

Believe it or not, I think it actually looks pretty decent like that. Any profile shots?

Indeed, you read it right. That's right folks. A 1994 Ford Escort with a whopping 88hp and 108 lb-ft of torques!
You might find yourself asking, a E46, to a E36, to a Turbo Miata, to a Ford Escort Station Wagon? Dub-U-Tee-FFF Well ladies and gents, I picked up this gem with only 44k miles on it for $500. It already had Tokico blues and Ground Control coilovers. The previous owner gutted it for me, installed a tach and water temp gauge, and even a CAI! Oh yes, an Escort GT front bumper and a stylish Mazda Protege front grill.
It came with some ricey Tenzo wheels so I immediately sold those and threw my Sportmaxxs on it from the Miata. Yes kids, that is 15x8 et 0 on an escort wagon.
So I've told you all this now, and you are still probably asking yourself, "Okay Alex, now WHY DID YOU BUY IT?"
And my answer, "only to turn it into THE MOST BADASS RACECAR EVER!" The Sportmaxxs are temp till we get some race rubber on this bish. I'm headed to the junkyard in a few hours to rape a Saab 2.0T of its turbo, charge pipe, intercooler, and a few other miscellaneous items. Also getting an HO head and cams to lower compression, the plan is to run a 7psi cold charge with a top mount and a 12:1 FMU. It's no longer gonna be a Ford, but a FAAB.
Oh yes, it's getting a cage, fixed back, and 6 points this week too.
At this point, I assume many of you are still confused. So I'll go ahead and give it away. We(a few high schoolers) are building a CHUMPCAR for the upcoming race at VIR on April 3 & 4. Basics of the race, buy and build a race car for $500 excluding safety equipment, wheels and tires, and there is a 2X OEM rule on brakes. Oh and I forgot to mention it's a 24 hour endurance race. Starts at 10AM Saturday, break at 5PM-6PM, and finish at 11AM Sunday. WOOT!
And on a finishing note, we are using the Sportmaxxs to get around the shop and get the car where we need to right now. I'd really like to pull the fenders like hardcore and make em fit. But I'm not really having very much luck. They are already rolled, but I want a nice flare in the rear. I tried to lower the car with a jack arm between the fender and tire and flare it that way, but the tire seemed to give a lot more than the fender lol. So if anyone can suggest a way to get mad clearance asap that'd be sick.
