If you're really set on just killing off the wheel gap you can always do H&R race springs, and shocks/struts of your choice. It always surprises me how low H&R race springs are on BMW's.

    Example of a E36 M3 on H&R race.

Oh wow, that actually looks pretty good. My only worry is the price. When it comes down to it, the springs with new shocks are essentially the price of mid range coilovers (ksports, and the like) so I really dont know if it would be better to just save up a bit more and grab some better coilovers instead of doing it twice when I end up not caring and slam the dam thing

If I do go that way, any recommendations on shocks? Konis require modifications to use right?

Seriously, dont waste any money on lowering springs. You will be going lower than you think right now.

Get a set of proper coils that allow you to slam it. They will perform great at a height were wheelgap is deleted.

yeah, thats kind of what I am thinking and at the price there really isnt any reason not to go with coils.

There's lots of options out there, but ST's are very well priced for how nice they are.
