Another Polonez recently made its way into my possession. My friend and I were bored one weekend so we threw the wheels on and cut the springs. It took about 3 hours of work and the total cost including the car and the bbs reps was less than $1500.
Btw, each front spring was shortened by 4.5 coils, and originally had 9. So, now you can cut a single spring in half and use it for both sides! Wheel/tires are 195/40/16 on 8.5" at the front, and 215/35/16 on 9.5" at the rear.
